Compare the same tasks with the same questions. Ask for original evidence, understandable allowances and clear limitations. An entry price means little until the measurement scope, repeat runs and required features are known.
What this comparison does and does not claim
Disclosure: This guide is published by Nalqerio, a GEO monitoring software provider. It is not an independent ranking and does not claim hands-on tests of competing products that we have not performed. The criteria are our decision framework and can be applied to other offers.
For competitor comparisons, check the denominator too. Our share of voice example shows why a high mention rate and a high competitive share mean different things. See AI brand monitoring with Nalqerio for the product scope.
Here, GEO means Generative Engine Optimization: work on making information more understandable and useful in generative search and answer systems. Software can support observations and workflows, but cannot force a citation or position. Bing explicitly states that SEO and GEO do not guarantee visibility. Read the official guidance.
Start with the use case, not the vendor
Write down the decision you want to support. A single brand may need a different workspace from an agency managing several clients and reports. Specify how many projects, active questions and planned measurements are genuinely required.
| Approach | Possible use | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Manual worksheet | Understand a few questions and clarify the need | Documentation effort and comparability |
| Monitoring software | Observe recurring questions with saved evidence | Methodology, allowances, failures and reporting |
| Consulting or agency support | Help with interpretation and implementation | Deliverables, responsibility and additional cost |
These approaches can complement each other. An agency may use software while a company starts manually. Choose a combination that meets your information needs and realistic workload.
Check a concrete example to see whether a tool records answers with evidence. The source matrix shows the information needed. A schema validator does a different job: it checks structured data rather than AI visibility.

Nine criteria for evaluating GEO software
1. Measurement system and search foundation
Which systems are actually queried? Are results collected through APIs, browser evaluation or another method? Ask about web search, model versions and differences from public chat interfaces. A familiar brand name in a feature list is not a methodology.
2. Question selection and versioning
Can you specify relevant questions, language and target market? Can you see when a question changes? Do not rely only on preselected positive examples. Test a question whose answer supports a real decision.
3. Original responses and cited sources
Can you trace a metric back to the answer? Are the actual cited URLs available? Review a name that could refer to another company and a response without an own-site citation. The observation should remain understandable.
4. Transparent metrics and missing data
Is the denominator explained? Are brand mentions, question coverage and citations distinct? What happens when a request fails? A failure should not resemble a confirmed negative finding. Our measurement guide includes a simple arithmetic example.
5. Projects, question slots and measurement rounds
Question slots do not automatically mean additional requests. Determine whether allowances apply per project or account, whether the first run counts, and whether automated and manual rounds share a pool. Check targeted rechecks separately.
6. Actions supported by evidence
Does a recommendation identify the target page, missing information and an observable completion criterion? Generated drafts should not invent product promises. Publication and later observed impact are different steps.
7. Reporting, collaboration and access
Which reports can you actually export or share? Is the report's data state understandable? Who can view or edit a client project? Find out whether private links, extra people or longer history require another plan.
8. Data processing and exit options
Check what project information is stored, how long results remain available and how data can be deleted or exported. Responsibilities and contractual documents should match your use case. A logo or broad privacy statement is not a substitute for this review.
9. Total cost and contract scope
Compare the price for your planned usage, including required extras. Read the term, tax information, cancellation conditions, trial ending and potential additional charges. A low monthly price with unsuitable allowances is not necessarily better value.
For claimed Gemini monitoring, check which API and search environment the tool actually uses. This does not establish direct measurement of Google AI Overviews.
Run a fair test with your own project
Define three tasks in advance: trace an answer to its source, investigate one concrete content question, and inspect the available report or results view. Use the same business need across products. Different measurement systems still remain different environments.
Label each criterion demonstrated, partly resolved or open. A feature unavailable during a trial is initially open: not automatically poor, and not automatically present. Ask for a clear explanation or suitable evidence.
Also decide your non-negotiable requirements. If you need separate client projects and reviewable sources, attractive visualisation cannot compensate for missing evidence. An added-up score should not hide that decision.

Which software tools are suitable for AI visibility?
Short answer: Suitable tools measure the questions your customers actually ask AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, show the original answers and cited sources, repeat the same questions on a schedule and tell you what to change on your own website. A single score without the underlying answers is not enough to act on.
Three types of software are used today:
- SEO suites with AI search reports โ useful if your team already works with keyword and backlink data and wants a first overview.
- Dedicated GEO monitoring tools โ they send defined customer questions to several AI systems, record brand mentions and cited sources over time and compare your brand with selected competitors. Nalqerio belongs to this group.
- Manual checks in the chat apps โ free and quick, but answers vary between sessions and cannot be compared reliably week by week.
For small and medium-sized businesses and agencies, a dedicated monitoring tool is usually the most practical choice when you need repeatable evidence and concrete website tasks rather than a one-off snapshot. Nalqerio measures OpenAI, Gemini and Perplexity, links every figure to the original answer and turns each gap into a page task with a text draft. Plans start at โฌ40 per month; the pricing page lists the current scope.
How Nalqerio fits these criteria
Nalqerio connects customer questions, separate API responses, brand mentions, available sources and possible website actions. An API measurement is a dated sample. Gemini uses separate web search through Perplexity and should not be equated with the Gemini app. Read the measurement methodology.
| Scope | Trial | Starter | Pro |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | โฌ0 for 14 days | โฌ40 / month | โฌ80 / month |
| Projects | 1 | 4 | 10 |
| Active questions per account | 3 | 20 | 50 |
| Complete measurement rounds | 1 in total | 4 per billing period | 4 per billing period |
| Targeted rechecks | Not included | 3 per billing period | 10 per billing period |
| Reports / exports | Not included | Included | Included; additional private report links |
Prices include applicable taxes. Measurement rounds are shared across the account's projects: initial, manual and automated rounds use the same allowance. A plan does not promise a successful response from a provider that is currently unavailable. Refer to current plan details and the scope displayed before a run.
Nalqerio is not an automatic website publishing service and does not guarantee improved AI recommendations. You review and publish changes yourself. A need for consulting or fully outsourced implementation should be evaluated separately.
When a subscription makes sense
A useful purchase decision can describe the next month concretely: which questions will you monitor again, who will review the evidence, and what decision or content work follows? Without that recurring workflow, a single documented sample may be enough initially.
For agencies, planning across client projects matters particularly. For one brand, begin with a clear question set. Choose based on demonstrated usefulness in your workflow, not the largest promised visibility gain.
Clarify your goal before comparing tools using GEO and SEO. An audit with individual findings helps establish your actual needs.
Frequently asked questions
Which software tools are suitable for AI visibility?
Tools that measure your customers' questions in ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity, show the original answers and sources, repeat the measurement regularly and suggest concrete website changes. Dedicated GEO monitoring tools such as Nalqerio do this; SEO suites with AI reports and manual checks cover parts of it.
Which GEO tool is best?
That depends on your task, required measurement systems, scope and need for evidence. This guide provides evaluation criteria, not an independent ranking.
Are more AI systems always better?
Only when they support your task and are documented clearly. Start with methodology and evidence. Different systems are not interchangeable repetitions of the same response.
Do 20 question slots mean 20 measurements?
Not necessarily. Question slots, complete rounds and targeted rechecks can be separate allowances. Nalqerio applies allowances account-wide; the pricing page explains the counting rules.
